Choose “to DVD”

DVD burning will take just several minutes! Select "to DVD" on the formats bar. In case you are going to burn discs regularly, you may add this output option to your Favorites by clicking the star sign above it.

Set conversion parameters

Change MP4 to DVD burning parameters if necessary. In a new software window, you are to check out the project. You may choose the following parameters:

  • Title for the disc and chapters;
  • DVD menu type (text, image or custom background);
  • Volume: Standard 4.7GB, Mini 1.4GB, Double Layer 8.5GB;
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9 or 4:3;
  • Encoding system: PAL or NTSC;
  • Audio codec: AC3 or MP2.

    • Choose either PAL or NTSC system depending on your location. PAL 25 fps is used in Europe and Australia, while NTSC 29.97 fps is used in the USA.

    The video codec used for all converting options is MPEG-2, you can’t modify it. Please keep in mind that this DVD format due to its nature doesn’t support high definition resolution such as 720p, 1080p or 4K. We recommend you using the default settings.

    Convert & burn MP4 to DVD disc

    Hit "Burn" to convert MP4 to DVD once you’re ready. Put a blank DVD-R or RW (or other disc types) into your DVD-ROM drive and choose it as a destination. Please note that you can’t put your video files on a CD with our DVD burner software.

    The process will take some time. The conversion speed will depend on your drive model and the resulted video duration. When the process is done, the app will offer you to make one more copy of the project. Accept the offer, if necessary. Enjoy the new DVD movie on your home player.

    If you don’t have a blank disc at the moment, you may export your project as a DVD folder or ISO image and save on the hard drive disk of your computer or USB flash. For the last option, insert it in a port beforehand. Just choose the respective option in the format settings window. You will be able to add your project into Freemake again and write it on a disc at any time.

    How to burn MP4 to DVD on Windows?


    If you use Windows 10 operating system, you can easily install Freemake program and convert MP4 to DVD on your desktop PC. Download the freeware using this link.

    Install and launch the MP4 to DVD Windows software. Then add your MP4 video you want to burn on a DVD disc on Windows 10. Then press the "to DVD" button and insert a blank DVD disc. This may be a DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD-R. The media shouldn't be corrupted.

    Then make sure the video quality of the future DVD video is OK (the program will inform about that), click the "Burn" button to convert MP4 files to DVD. Wait a bit until the DVD is being created.

    Alternatively, you may save the DVD structure as VIDEO_TS folder on your Windows 10 computer. Choose the appropriate option in DVD settings window.
